Fall is in full swing and I am SO excited. Warm drinks, changing colors, and lots and lots of layers. I'm particularly partial to sweaters, shirts, anything that covered my bum--so this GAP zip sweater hits the nail on the head. It's the perfect thickness so you're not too cold or too hot. I paired it with my favorite pair of marsala colored skinnies and mesh SOREL boots, FTW.

Fall is by far one of my favorite seasons (not like there's too many to choose from!). BUT, I love transitioning my wardrobe and restocking my closet with cozy pieces. Most of all, I LOVE fall/winter footwear. This season, for SOREL, is no exception. I got this pair of Cate the Great Wedge Boots mid summer and started counting down the days until I could wear them. This day, I was a bit premature in my wardrobe decisions and had to bear the heat on a 90* day in Portland. Whatever- my footwear was on point, right? Either way, this boot is the perfect transition piece that'll carry you from fall into winter.

I can't say enough about how much I was not sold on this Kendra Scott necklace until it showed up on my doorstep inside my Rocks Box box. I'd seen a lot of other ladies donning it on Instagram and to be honest, didn't like it. Good thing I got to give it a go because I absolutely fell in love. Weekend In Photos: Turning 30

Ho-lee-crap. I cannot believe I am 30 years old! My parents came in from Texas for the weekend and we had a great time wandering around Portland, eating and drinking. Fall (my favorite season) has arrived in Portland and I enjoyed showing my parents the changing colors, visiting a pumpkin patch, and getting lost in a corn maize. Weekend In Photos | Labor Day

Three words: three day weekend. It was much needed but much too short. The weather was amazing- rainy, sunny, rainbows, cool, and fall-like. Ryan and I went bowling and finally had time (not enough!) to relax. I even had my first bloody mary of the season. Yum.

Even though I have this pair of 1964 Wedges in two colors already, I saw this pair during the Nordstrom Sale and had to have them. Yeah-I know I have a problem-32 pairs of SOREL problems to be exact. (Does that mean I have 64 individual problems?!) This pair was the perfect colorful addition for my fall wardrobe. The best part? They come with an extra pair of solid color laces in case you aren't feeling the friendship-y pattern of the other.

Ten Toes Paddle Boards x Trillium Lake

This week I'd been fighting off some sort of sickness and finally had to give in on Friday and take a day off from work to rest. I literally did not move from the couch all day and Ryan had to drag me out (for my own good) on Saturday for brunch. By the time Sunday rolled around, sure enough, Ryan had gotten sick too. However- we'd promised Ryan's mom some time on the water and couldn't go back on our word so we all hit Trillium Lake for an hour or so to test out her new kayaks and my new Ten Toes Paddle Board.

I started paddle boarding when I lived in Austin, on Lady Bird Lake. Since then, I've loved paddle boarding, but never owned my own board. Ten Toes sent me The Weeekender and couple weeks ago and I finally got to test the waters.

I've never paddled on an inflatable board, but I'm sold! I will admit, there wasn't much standing up this time around (because I still felt like I'd been hit by a bus and had a head full of snot), but it was fun. Tip: If you're not comfortable standing all the way up on you board, try paddling from a mid-kneeling position. This won't work your core as much as standing up, but your quads will be screaming! 

I was surprised how easy The Weekender was to assemble:

1. Unroll the paddle board.

2. Pump to about 16 PSI (+/-225 pumps)

3. Attach fins.

4. Assemble paddle.

5. Get in the water!

There was a bit of worry at first that because the board was inflatable, it wouldn't be as stable, but it was totally fine! Silly as it may sound, but the best part of this board is the bungee cord at the front. It was a lifesaver that held my flip-flops and kept my GoPro from falling the water when I wasn't using it.

Can you tell we both need Mucinex and a nap?!

Disassembly of the board is just the opposite- remove the fins, deflate, throw in the car! I recommend either fully drying the board off once you get home or letting it dry (unrolled) in your garage overnight before rolling up and putting away.
