The Art of Sneakers

If there's one thing that will always be true about my style--I'm a sneaker girl through and through. After work I come home, kick off the sandals, wedges, heels and slip into a pair of comfy sneakers. If we had enough room, I'd add more and more, but--I don't want to push the fiancé out of the picture because of too many shoes :)

What makes a great pair of sneaks? They're versatile enough to wear from the trail to the pavement. I'm not one for running, so it is important to me that my shoes can stand up to a hike through the forest and are still stylish enough to accompany me on errands or meet a friend for drinks.

Color is also key. Like I said, if it weren't for space issues, I'd own every color sneaker out there! It was even hard for me to choose this pair because it comes in SO MANY different colors!

So here's to Ryan and I finding a new place to live so I can get more shoes, jk. But no, really, that wouldn't be a bad thing ;)

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. It's supposed to be sunny and warm...ish in Portland for at least the next 7 days!

New To Stripes

Free People Tunic // Frame Denim Skinny Jeans // Crocodile Clutch // SOREL Medina Rain Heels

Y'all, I have NEVER been a stripes kind of person...EVER! I don't know if it's me about to turn 30 this year or what, but everything I've been gravitating toward lately has been stripes! I've had to say to myself,"No, Tori. Put that back, you have 3 other things in your hands that have stripes on them!"

My co-worker, Sam, wore this tunic to work and I'd been secretly admiring it. A couple weeks ago, I finally found it online and had to have it. (Sorry for jacking your style, Sam! I wanted to look cute too!) If you haven't noticed, I only wear things that are extremely comfortable and could double as pajamas at a moment's notice. I've had to hold myself back from wearing it to work every week and I think Ryan got sick of seeing me in it every weekend. BUT. I. LOVE. IT!

You can pair this with heels or, if wearing it out for errands or work, I also wear these F21 perforated slip-ons. This top also comes in 4 colors and don't think I haven't contemplated buying one for each day of the week!

Happy Monday!

Spring Stripes

You guys, I am not kidding when I say it has been SO cold in Portland!

There was a possibility that I was going to travel to Texas this week for work, so naturally, I checked the weather on my iPhone. The next morning, I woke up, checked my phone and was like,"Oh wow! It's going to be 75 degrees and sunny today!" It wasn't until Ryan and I were almost to the office that he asked me what the weather for the weekend was going to be like. I took out my phone and saw that the weather was still on DALLAS not Portland! So, I'd dressed for a warm and sunny day, when in reality it was going to be 55 and rainy :)

Just wanted to tell you guys that funny story. Needless to say, these photos were not taken on one of our recently rainy days, but a rare semi-warm PDX day a few weeks ago.

I LOVE this outfit. I purchased this striped dress and had no idea how to spice it up until I randomly came across this vest and knew it'd be the perfect match. I'm obsessed with this Madewell cuff and pretty much wear it with every outfit.

I'm super excited because I've got two short work weeks in a row which means three day weekends here I come! (hands in air emoji)

Chilly Spring Days

F21 Faux Leather-Paneled Coat // F21 Cowl Neck Sweater (similar) // SOREL Medina II Rain Heel

Spring is here! Buuut, the past few weeks, it's been colder than winter. Ryan and I have been sleeping with the heater on and the first thing I do after work is jump into my warm pajamas. This past weekend was no exception when it came to chilly weather.

I purchased this coat at the end of the season, thank goodness, and I finally had an excuse to yank off the tags. The photos don't do it justice, but the bottom half is faux leather and contrasts nicely with the top. I basically live in this cowl neck sweater. I love how large the neck is--perfect for days when you don't want to wear a scarf.

From the minute I saw this pair of Medinas during a preseason meeting, I knew I had to have them! I counted down the days until they were released. If you want to look extra fancy in the rain, these are the way to go...but they're great for sunny days too.

Easter Alternative | Part II

This second Easter Sunday outfit alternative is my favorite by far. I knew I wanted to add this one to the blog because I received SO many compliments at work. I'm not really a pink person, but I love this moto jacket! It is the perfect shade of soft pink and easily makes a simple outfit look extremely put together.

Jennifer, of Blooming Lotus Jewelry, and I crossed paths on Instagram. Though we've never met, I can safely say that Jennifer is a kindred spirit. She has such a kind heart and makes all of her pieces with great intention. She sent me the 'California Dreaming' stack last week and I've been working my outfits around it because I love it so much!

I hope everyone has a fun (and relaxing) Easter weekend!

Easter Alternative | Part I

F21 Cowl Neck Sweater // Top Shop Moto 'Leigh' Ripped Jeans //
F21 Triangle Charm Necklace // Noonday Bracelet  c/o // SOREL Toronto Lace Boots c/o

Growing up in the south, Easter Sunday was always a huge deal. You had a special 'Easter Sunday' dress, which was purchased just to wear on Easter. Church, relatives in town, egg hunts, candy, and a huge lunch that would turn into dinner (and a nap.)

Since I moved away from Texas, Easter hasn't been THAT big of a deal anymore since I'm not near family. The look above is great for a casual Sunday spent with family or friends. I love this sweater because it is SO soft and lightweight--perfect for brunch. Aaaand, wouldn't be uncomfortable to post-brunch nap in too :)

Weekend In Photos

Friday I was lucky enough to be away from the office with Ryan, shooting images for the Fall 2015 Sorel windows. You guys, Fall/Winter for Sorel is way too cute and I can't wait to get my hands on ALL of them! Lucky for you, the one shown below is available NOW!

Per the usual, it rained this weekend. Sunday morning was spent at the track, and of course, I brought along the coffee. If anyone out there is in the Pacific Northwest, I highly suggest you try out Starbucks 'Order Ahead.' I use it all the time--esp. weekday mornings when time is tight. All you have to do is download the Starbucks app, connect your PayPal account, and put in your order! It lets you know when your drink will be ready and you just walk in, skip the line, and grab your drink at the barista station! Beware: you will get dirty looks ;)

After practice, we went to Pacific Pie, down the street from us. For the longest time, this has been our little brunch secret. We'd go there on a Sunday for brunch, and watch the super long line of brunchers across the street at Besaw's while we got our food in no time. Bad news for us, it's been discovered and now you have to wait to get a table! That being said, it's still a great place to grab an Aussie inspired bite, smoothie, or pie!

Sunday evening, the rain gave way just enough for a gorgeous sunset and shiny streets :)

Have a great week, everyone!
